The sculptures of the Hämeensilta bridge have silently endured the cold of winter and the heat of summer for nearly one hundred years, but for the Tampere Biennale, the sculptures by Wäinö Aaltonen will be granted their long-longed-for voice. The texts performed by the statues are based on writings by Leena Ojalatva, Tuula Pelttari, Heikki Partala and Marjatta Virtanen, originally from the Koskessa virtaa mustetta (There is Ink Flowing in the Rapid) anthology.
Jussi Suonikko's artistic work has been supported by the Pirkanmaa Cultural Foundation. My part of the work is a greeting as the artistic director of the festival for the city of Tampere.
